Katie, or Quinn, began to develop her own ideas about style and design at a young age. Always having firm notions about what was good and what wasn’t. Frequently, she would be brought to tears at the tender age of six because the toe seams on her tights moved around so much. After being dubbed “Pinky” on her block because of daily ensembles in varying shades of pink, she realized there were those who didn’t get the same satisfaction out of putting things together just right. Even wearing a uniform throughout high school did not stop her from spending every possible dime on pieces she deemed worthy. But when she could not find a purse cute enough to buy, she dreamt one up and got to sewing in a friend’s basement. This began what is now known as The Great Purse Rush at her all-girls high school, however grades and demand could not kept up with and sadly the shop had to close.
Katie grew up in Chicago, moved to London after college, and has lived in San Francisco since the beginning of 2008. She has traveled the world quite extensively, but knows she hasn’t really yet begun. Though these cities and experiences have influenced her style, she always keeps design and quality at the forefront. Katie’s passion for communicating through fashion and interiors has continued to play a keen role in her life and she began styling to share this life-long pursuit for all things thoughtful and lovely. In August 2010, Katie won Best Stylist from the Third Annual San Francisco Fashion Awards hosted by Stellar 3.
